Aaron Sims began his monumental career in the special effects industry in 1985, moving to Los Angeles to specialize in practical makeup and animatronics. In 1987, he began a landmark 12-year collaboration with Academy Award-winning makeup icon Rick Baker, contributing to classic 90s films like Gremlins 2 and Men in Black. He later joined Stan Winston Studio, co-founding Stan Winston Digital in 2000, where he pioneered hybrid pipelines that seamlessly blended practical puppetry and prosthetics with emerging 3D software. In 2005, seeking absolute creative freedom, he founded Aaron Sims Creative (ASC) in Los Angeles. His boutique studio became an industry titan, defining the absolute visual identities of major modern cinematic universes. Beyond concept art, Sims has expanded into directing and utilizing advanced real-time game engines for virtual film production.
