Brief Description About Pascal Blanche

Pascal Blanché is an internationally acclaimed 3D concept artist and art director known for his highly distinct “retro-future” aesthetic. His style features a vibrant, saturated color palette, heavy rim lighting, and highly textured character and creature designs. Deeply inspired by 1980s sci-fi, fantasy, and legendary comic artists like Moebius, Frank Frazetta, Simon Bisley, and Richard Corben, his environments and figures possess a unique tactile quality that bridges the gap between classic physical airbrush illustration and modern 3D modeling.

Short Biography:

Born in Paris in 1971 and raised in Southern France, Pascal Blanché studied traditional art, photography, and video at Marseille’s Fine Art School. He entered the entertainment industry in 1994, eventually moving to Canada in 2000 to work on the groundbreaking full-CG feature film Kaena: The Prophecy. Following this, he joined Ubisoft, where he served as a defining Art Director for acclaimed projects like Myst IV: Revelation, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, and James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game. Throughout his prominent career, he has held senior creative leadership roles at major video game studios including Behaviour Interactive, Jagex, and Frontier, and is currently the Studio Art Director at Arcanaut Studios. Alongside his commercial work, his personal art series, Derelict Planet, has won international awards and earned him a massive global following in the digital art community.
